Nyamira County women Representative Jerusha Momanyi has asked Nyamira County MCAs to stop misusing county development funds.
The lawmaker stated that the ward representatives should not take advantage of the innocent electorates to embezzle development funds sent to their wards.
“MCAs should deliver quality services as by their campaign promises. We don’t want a situation whereby Governor Nyagarama will be blamed for failed development projects across all the wards in the region," she noted.
She also urged MCAs to conduct their oversight roles well especially on the county expenditure.
“Funds sent from the national government to Nyamira County must be used appropriately so that we could not have money returning back to the national government for lack of projects to be initiated.
"The MCAs with the help of ward administrators should help the county government to identify the projects which should be initiated and launched in their respective areas of administration,” added the MP.
