[Photo|PSCU]Kimilili MP Didmus Barasa has issued a statement clarifying the remarks he made about the Senate speaker. The Jubilee MP on Monday also clarified on how his relationship with the national government will be."OFFICIAL STATEMENT Social media has been awash since yesterday with misinterpretation of what I said concerning the relationship between the Office of the Speaker of the Senate and that of the Office of the Member of the County Assembly. This comparison was in line with grassroots development and while I have no apologies to make whatsoever, I wish to further state as follows :That I didn’t mean to demean the Senate Speaker’s Office. I categorically state here that I respect my fellow leaders and their offices. As a Member of Parliament for Kimilili, I will always push for the general development of the community. I would therefore like to make it known that I will join hands with fellow leaders who want to help the community to develop. At the same time, my relationship with the government will depend on the development projects that they bring down to the people of Kimilili, the same way we supported its reelection. I have started the upgrading of houses for the needy families. I expect to have more than 300 houses ready by the end of this month. This is the kind of development people want to see."
