Bahati Member of Parliament Kimani Ngunjiri now wants President Uhuru Kenyatta to disclose the content of his unity deal with opposition leader Raila Odinga.
In an interview on Radio Citizen on Sunday, the vocal leader argued that the duo's continued silence on the secret deal is ailing the nation, adding that it is the reason behind the emerging vigorous 2022 presidential succession debate.
He requested Uhuru to salvage the nation which cannot help but try to come up with baseless analysis on the possible reasons, content, and results of the surprise union.
He added that the leaders' allies have been rendered the victims of the truce, with curious Kenyans seeking answers from them, basing on their placement as the link between the two and the people.
''It is time both President Kenyatta and Odinga considered telling Kenyans the actual thing contained in their pact because we as their allies are the ones being asked tough questions by people who do not believe us when we tell them that we are also in the dark,'' he said.
With the two having recently expressed confidence that their new-found unity will solve the political rivalry and restore national cohesion in the nation, Ngunjiri demanded answers on why it took them a long time to make the move.
''They should also tell the nation why it took them so long to reach the reconciliation stage,'' he added.
