On Tuesday, leading aspirant James Atandi threatened to mobilise area residents to demonstrate against alleged looting of the funds should the MP fail to make the names public.

Speaking to the reporter on Tuesday, Atandi said many deserving students from the region were getting a raw deal from the constituency with many of them denied bursaries despite their situational home.

“Angwenyi should publish the names of all students who have ever received bursaries from CDF in the just concluded financial year. We cannot accept situations where ghost people are issued with bursaries,” he said.

“I will mobilise residents to demonstrate if he fails to make the names of beneficiaries’ public. We cannot be taken for a ride anymore. Our funds must be protected from looter,” added Atandi.

However on a phone call, Agwenyi denied looting of CDF funds and promised to make the list public in a weeks’ time.

“That is pure politics and my competitors know about it. I have never defrauded my constituents and if it’s the list, it will be available in a weeks’ time. Such kind of politics is primitive,” he said.
