A Jubilee MP has praised President Uhuru Kenyatta's speech during his inauguration on 28th November, 2017.
Samburu West MP Naisula Lesuuda welcomed Uhuru's call for unity and reconciliation, saying it was time to heal the nation after the divisive elections.
On Tuesday, Uhuru asked Kenyans to make a pledge to 'reject the politics of division, hate and violence', and instead take the higher, more sacred road of working to build their beloved country.
"My President. I hear you. I too pledge to reconcile with my Raila-supporting brothers and sisters. I too pledge to heal Kenya," she said.
"As Christian and a patriot, I pledge to heed the message of love," the MP wrote in an opinion piece published by The Standard.
Lesuuda encouraged the Kenyan people to put politics behind them and embrace each other for nation re-building.
"Like our President, we must all extend a hand of peace and brotherhood to our friends, neighbours and fellow countrymen who supported a different candidate," the legislator said.
