Barely two months to elections, has President Uhuru Kenyatta yet again suffered a political setback after his close ally hinted a Raila Odinga’s victory.

The two political protagonists are set to face each other in a repeat of 2013 polls in which Odinga lost narrowly to Kenyatta.

But rebellious Mumias East MP Ben Washiali, who has been a vocal defender of Jubilee administration, says opposition NASA has created a euphoria that could impact negatively on Jubilee candidate.

“As things stand now, even though I support Jubilee, we stand no chance of trouncing Raila in Western region. Dislodging him with Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetangula supporting him is difficult,” he said.

The ODM rebel MP added: “If Jubilee does not act swiftly in order to combat growing opposition euphoria in this nation, be prepared for Odinga’s landslide victory.”

Through Washiali and Bungoma governor Ken Lusaka, the Jubilee administration has been penetrating Western region, a territory considered opposition home turf.

Having zoned the region a tossup, President Uhuru Kenyatta is set to tour Bungoma and Trans Nzoia Countries on Thursday this week.
