Nyeri Town Mp Ngunjiri Wambugu has reacted to the anticipatory bail issued by the High Court on Tuesday barring the police from arresting Governor Hassan Joho and 9 other National Super Alliance (NASA) affiliated leaders.
According to Ngunjiri, the High Court's decision clearly shows they have become players in the country's politics.
On a Facebook post on Tuesday, Ngunjiri further questioned the Judiciary's move to bar the arrests imploring if the Court knows if and why the leaders are to be arrested.
"Yenyewe the Judiciary is playing with Kenyans. When you bar the Executive from arresting someone even before you know they will be arrested ... or why, what are you actually saying? This Judiciary has become a player in Kenya’s politics and have lost all legitimacy to be a non-partisan arbiter," posted Ngunjiri.
The NASA leaders sort the reprieve of the High Court to stop the police from arresting them in line with the controversial swearing-in of the coalition's leader Raila Odinga on January 30.
The leaders move may be guided by the recent arrests of Ruaraka Mp TJ Kajwang', Makadara Mp George Aladwa and lawyer Miguna Miguna.
The Kshs 100,000 anticipatory bail protects Governor Hassan Joho, Senators James Orengo of Siaya, Cleophas Malala of Kakamega, George Khaniri of Vihiga. Homa Bay Women Gladys Wanga, legislators Simba Arati, George Aladwa, and Babu Owino.
Other NASA members protected by the bail are the coalition's CEO Norman Magaya, David Ndii and businessman Jimi Wanjigi.
