Speaking to Nakuru residents, Nakuru East MP David Gikaria said Jubilee legislators had agreed to sensitise members of the public on the importance of familiarising themselves with the issues being agitated for by Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (Cord).

“Cord is not following the laid down procedures in its push for a referendum because they should first provide the referendum question before asking members (people) to sign,” said Gikaria.

He added that at the moment, it would only be wise for the opposition to identify development projects that the government needs to support instead of engaging in 'unnecessary quarrels'.

The lawmaker claimed that in Nakuru town alone, more than 80 percent of the population are opposed to the referendum.
