Lunga Lunga MP Khatib Mwashetani has dismissed NASA’s threat to swear in Raila Odinga as president.Mwashetani said NASA has no capacity or grounds on which they can swear in Raila. In a briefing with journalists at Parliament buildings in Nairobi on Wednesday, the Jubilee MP said that nothing will change even if Raila is sworn in as president. He said Kenyans only recognise Uhuru Kenyatta as the legitimate President-elect.Mwashetani accused NASA of seeking sympathy after losing in both the August 8 presidential election and the October 26 repeat poll.“NASA politicians should stop issuing threats and intimidating Kenyans in the name of swearing in Raila Odinga,” said Mwashetani on Wednesday. The MP said the constitution is clear on who is supposed to be sworn in as president noting that Jubilee will not be intimidated by the opposition. The Lunga Lunga lawmaker appealed to Kenyans to shun NASA propaganda and hateful politics.Mwashetani also warned NASA leaders against their push for secession. He argued that the secession debate is not sellable, adding that NASA should look for alternative ways of remaining politically relevant.A section of NASA politicians led by Siaya Senator James Orengo has threatened to swear in Raila as their president. They said they will swear in Raila using the August 8 presidential election results if Uhuru is sworn in for a second term.
