A photo has emerged of a scene where Isiolo women Representative Reheme Dida refused to shake President Uhuru Kenyatta’s hand. The head of state was unease after the lawmaker snubbed his greeting and instead opted to salute him.

According to Tuko.co.ke the lawmaker had no bad intentions when she refused to shake hands with Jubilee Presidential candidate. In the Islamic religion, women are not allowed to shake hands with men who are not their husbands.

It is also said that the women are not permitted to shake hands when they are preparing for prayers.

Uhuru also made stopovers in Garissa and Kitui county on Monday. In Garissa, he called upon residents to turn out in large numbers to ensure he retains power.

“On the October 26, turn out in large numbers and vote for Jubilee so that we can beat Raila Odinga by a bigger margin compared to August 8 elections,” said President Kenyatta, as quoted by KBC.

He also attacked opposition leader, Raila Amolo Odinga for calling for protests ahead of the rerun. The commander in chief of the armed forces said Raila has no agenda for Kenyans.

“Our opponents have no agenda for the country, they believe the way to ascend to power is through chaos” he stated. The President also assured the residents that his government will take care of their needs if he is re-elected into power when that time comes.
