Waweru who is one the Jubilee MPs seeking to unseat Governor Evans Kidero in the upcoming polls added that he has heavily invested in the party and he expects to get the ticket.

The lawmaker stated that he would consider looking for another vessel to compete if he felt that the nomination was flawed.

He further alleged that some MPs drawn from Jubilee were tricking Wamalwa even though they were aware that he wont make it as the next Nairobi governor.

“Some of the Mps are trying to trick Wamalwa to join this race and yet they are sure he cant make it whatsoever,” said Waweru.

Wamalwa is the latest candidate to show interest in the race after being endorsed by a few members of parliament drawn from Central Kenya led by Kabete's Ferdinand Waititu.

While addressing the press on Tuesday, Waweru added that he is ready to take the battle with any leader as he is sure he will clinch the nomination.

“Nairobi is our city and in all my years I have been living here, therefore I am the perfect leader to take over from Kidero,” said Waweru.

The race for Nairobi's top seat has also attracted interest from senator Mike Sonko and TNA chairman Johnson Sakaja.
