Kesses Member of Parliament Dr. Swarup Mishra has said that he will resign if any amount of public fund is embezzled under his watch.
The Jubilee first-term MP, however, said that he will ensure there are transparency and accountability of every single cent in his constituency.
“I want to state here clearly that I was elected by the people of Kesses to improve their livelihoods and not to steal from them and if it will be found that money has been lost through corruption I am ready to resign,” said Mishra in his constituency, Monday.
The MP further warned National Government Constituencies Development Fund (NG-CDF) official against misusing public fund saying those who will be found will face the full force of the law.
“I want to give a stern warning to my NG-CDF officials to ensure that they can account for every cent under their disposal. You will only steal public funds over my dead body,” he said.
Mishra also said that he will not allow some few self-centered individuals to tarnish his name saying "I will show them the door before the Kesses electorate sack me."
He challenged locals to act as their watchdog by closely monitoring how NG-CDF funds are being utilized on different projects and report anyone misusing them.
