Turbo Member of Parliament Elisha Busienei has criticised the United States after it issued a travel advisory warning its citizens of possible violence in the country as elections near.Busienei said such advisories were unnesesary as the country has been peaceful and it would remain to be so before, during seven after the August 8 polls.Speaking in Eldoret, the Jubilee allied MP urged the US to withdraw the advisory and allow its citizens to freely travel in and out of Kenya."This country is united like never before and there is no possibility of violence during the elections," said Busienei."Our visitors should not fear anything, in fact they can even travel across the country during the voting day," he added, Friday. On Thursday, the US State Department issued a travel alert warning Americans residing in or traveling to Kenya of possible violence in the run-up to the August elections.“Rallies, demonstrations and protests may occur with little notice and even those intended to be peaceful can escalate into violence,” the notice said.“As with all large events, there is also the opportunity for criminal elements or terrorists to target participants and visitors,” the State Department added.[Turbo MP Elisha Busienei at a past event.
