A Jubilee legislator has dismissed Baringo senator Gideon Moi's presidential aspirations insisting that his father's reputation will ruin the chances.
Last week, the flamboyant senator accused Deputy President William Ruto's allies of dragging his father, Daniel Moi's name when discrediting his ambitions.
"I am ready to be attacked as an individual but it is wrong to drag the name of that old man to my issues," he said.
He was referring to persistent attacks waged against him after he reportedly barred Ruto from meeting the former president.
But Kitutu Masaba MP Shadrack Mose says Moi's poor record on human rights and economic empowerment will dwindle Gideon's chances.
"I don't see the reason Ruto should panic because of Gideon. His father had the worst human rights records and even management of the economy. That alone will bring him down," he said.
The two Rift Valley protagonists are jostling for the region's favours with Ruto accusing Gideon of plotting to sabotage his plans.
