Pepee was shot dead by unknown assailants alongside MCA Fredrick Cheretei at a bar in Marigat on Friday night.

Baringo North MP William Cheptumo forced Tiaty MP Asman Kamama to cut short his remarks in the House, demanding that he should record a statement with the police over the killing of his rival.

Kamama, earlier said the killings were a revenge by members of the Tugen community.

“If he knows that the attackers were from the Tugen community, he (Kamama) should be the one to record a statement,” said an enraged Cheptumo.

Kamama in his defense, said he was not responsible for the killings.

The Jubilee lawmaker said he grew up in church and did not orchestrate the killings.

“I have grown up in the church. I am a cool guy,” he said.

“The issue of me eliminating my opponent are pure lies and a spin by a hit squad operating in Marigat, Mochongoi and Loboi who have been targeting six leaders from Pokot community,” Kamama said, as reported by the Standard.

Pepee was going to face off with Kamama in Jubilee primaries for the party’s ticket ahead of August 8 polls.

The deceased had just returned from Nairobi before he met his death, according to his friends

He had been summoned by the Jubilee Party over a complaint lodged by MP Kamama regarding distribution of party cards.
