After Moiben MP Silas Tiren hit out at some elected leaders in the region for remaining silent over the farmers' woes, his Soy counterpart Caleb Kositany has angrily responded in a hard-hitting style.

Speaking at Ziwa trading center in his constituency on Monday, Kositany said elected leaders are not in competition of who is supporting farmers but serving the electorate and not to police each other.

“Farmers issues cannot be solved through demonstrations, heckling and trying to look for cheap publicity as Tiren has been doing. What I know is that we have serious plans on how to help farmers. By not going to the streets does not mean we don't care,” said the MP.

“Tiren should come back to his senses and stop mixing farmers issues with politics and the fact that he was denied the chairmanship of the National Parliament Agriculture Committee. He has not recovered from that hullabaloo that’s why he is moving up and down like a wounded lion,” added Kositany.

The Jubilee MP challenged elected leaders from Agricultural counties in the North Rift to work as a team in addressing farmers challenges.

He said they have good plans for farmers who will soon know who is fighting for them and who is not noting that "We are looking for a serious solution that will solve farmers problems once and for all."
