Although Ruto has dismissed early politicking ahead of 2022, he would however face hurdles in the by elections slated at in Nandi Hills and Elgeyo Marakwet.

Leading the rebellion is Ex-Nandi Hills MP Alfred Keter, who has linked the DP directly to his woes.

"These two people don't want us in their administration and the judgment on annulling my victory speaks volumes on their interference," he said.

His Emurua Dikir counterpart Johanna Ng'eno was more categorical warning that the rebel MPs were ready to take on Ruto head-on.

"The war on Armageddon has just begun. We are going to speak to the people. We cannot accept to be crucified," he said.

While Ruto is cautious about the intrigues, politicians close to him have openly bashed the rebel MPs, who are linked to Senator Gideon Moi further creating tension in the Rift Valley.

Already, a section of neutral Rift Valley legislators have openly asked Ruto to reach the rebel MPs before matters get out of hand.
