Jubilee Party legislators have accused Nairobi governor Evans Kidero over what they said was trying to use external forces to cover up his dwindling support in the county.
During party’s rally held at Mlango Kubwa in Mathare on September 18, different speakers blasted Kidero for depending on Joho to organise a rally in his county, claiming that such a display showed the governor’s incompetence to run the county government.
“It is surprising that Kidero, who is the governor for Nairobi, cannot organise his own rally without getting support from Hassan Joho, who does not understand Nairobi politics,” said Bishop Margaret Wanjiru.
On his part, Nairobi gubernatorial aspirant Johnson Sakaja accused Kidero of looking for Joho’s support in a bid to organise a rally in Nairobi, saying that Nairobi is already Jubilee’s stronghold.
“It is pretentious for Joho to campaign for Kidero in Nairobi and yet his own backyard is in shambles. They should know that Jubilee has taken over Nairobi,” he said.
National Assembly Majority leader Aden Duale said that despite involving Joho in their campaigns, Jubilee is well prepared to defeat ODM and clinch the city’s gubernatorial seat.
“We were able to defeat Raila when President Uhuru Kenyatta and DP William Ruto had cases at the ICC. Now that they are free, ODM should expect a defeat of an even bigger margin,” said Duale.
“Jubilee has more MPs in Nairobi than ODM, and we also have the Senator and Women Representative. God willing we will clinch the governorship seat in 2017,” Duale added.
