Homa Bay Town MP Peter Kaluma during a past press conference. He has told Jubilee to forget the Western vote saying it belongs to Nasa.[nation.co.ke].Homabay Town MP Peter Kaluma has told Jubilee party to forget the Western vote for good saying that the whole region is in Nasa.
Kaluma has told Jubilee that attempts to make in-roads in 'Mulembe' nation will be as good as trying to extract water from a stone.
Speaking on Citizen TV's Monday Special news program, Kaluma also warned the current area MPs who have aligned themselves with Jubilee party saying that they will lose miserably to Nasa candidates.
"All those MPs tagging along Jubilee from the Western region should wave parliament goodbye. There is no space for Jubilee in Western at whatever cost," said Kaluma.
The MP exuded confidence that Nasa will win the August 8 poll with a resounding victory saying that this time round the 'tyranny of numbers' is in their favour.
"Voter registration figures look very good throughout the country and the talk that Nasa supporters do not come out to vote is a propaganda propagated by Jubilee and their agents.
"Kenyans everywhere are ripe for change as Jubilee has wasted resources in corruption. It is time we put an end to leaders doing business with country’s resources," added Kaluma.
Political analyst Prof Edward Kisiang'ani echoed Kaluma's sentiments stating that Jubilee's Western vote hunt expedition will amount to null.
"I do not think Jubilee will get the Western vote. They should concentrate their energy elsewhere. This time around the region seems determined as to which direction it wants to go," said Kisiangani.
However, Jubilee party Secretary General and former Rarienda MP Raphael Tuju rubbished Kaluma's assertions saying that Western still remains a swing region.
"Luhya land is a battleground as far as we are concerned. Both sides have a lot to rally Western region support on," said Tuju.
