Jubilee politicians have denied any links by the party to a petition filed by Nyeri town MP Ngunjiri Wambugu seeking to remove CJ David Maraga from office.

National Assembly majority leader Aden Duale and senator Kipchumba Murkomen on Friday said there were no instructions from Jubilee leaders to the Jubilee MP to file the petition.

The two said they have talked to Wambugu on phone and that they will meet to discuss his move.

"We have talked to Ngunjiri over the phone. He has told us he strongly believes in matters raised in his petition...it is up to him to decide whether to drop the petition or proceed with it," Duale said.

The Garissa township MP said Wambugu is among Central region leaders currently in a retreat with President Uhuru Kentayya at Sagana State Lodge.

Duale noted  that Wambugu is a citizen and an MP who is entitled to enjoy democratic right to petition Parliament or the Judicial Service Commission on the conduct of any institution.

"I want to categorically state that that is not the decision of Jubilee Party within its structures. It his within his democratic rights", he added.
