Two Jubilee MPs have dissociated themselves from nomination of Fred Matiang'i as the Interior Cabinet Secretary.

The firebrand CS is among few who survived President Uhuru Kenyatta's wrath in his new government appointments.

But even with his industry, the MPs have dismissed claims that he should be counted as a Nyamira resident therefore calling for another appointment.

"Despite voting for Jubilee we have been given nothing. This is an indication that we are not valued at all by the state," said Joash Nyamoko of North Mugirango.

Similar sentiments were aired by Kitutu Masaba's Shadrack Mose who said: "We have not been given anything and we know the holder of the purported post is an outsider."

Despite residing in Nyamira, Matiang'i is widely associated with his ancestral roots in Kisii County.

Also appointed from the neighbouring Kisii were Chris Obure as Chief Administrative Secretary and Susan Mocheche as PS.
