A section of Members of Parliament allied with Jubilee Party have dismissed calls for dialogue between President Uhuru Kenyatta and NASA leader Raila Odinga.
Led by Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichung'wa, the lawmakers asserted that those calling for talks between the ruling party and the Opposition are cowards, adding that Mr Odinga should man up and face President Kenyatta during the forthcoming presidential repeat polls.
“Raila challenged presidential election at the Supreme Court. The court ordered for fresh presidential polls and IEBC set the date. After people have prepared enough, he withdraws from the race leaving his supporters confused, and then you hear someone calling for dialogue.Where is this person headed?” Ichung'wa posed.
There have been calls from different quarters urging the two political divides to negotiate and find a middle ground even as the poll date draws nigh.
Deputy President William Ruto has since ruled out any chance of the government engaging the Opposition, accusing NASA leaders of being mischievous.
