Jubilee party Members of Parliament have now thrown their weight behind Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka’s son Kennedy ahead of the Thursday afternoon vote on the East Africa Legislative Assembly representatives.
National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale stated that the legislators have been instructed to support the former Vice President’s son Kennedy Musyoka to be an EALA legislator.
The election is slated for Thursday afternoon in both the Senate and National Assembly. Once elected the MPs were due to take oath on Monday at the Assembly’s headquarters in Arusha. The election comes even after the Political Parties Dispute Tribunal issued an injunction stopping Parliament from approving nominees of NASA until a case contesting their nomination is heard.Following the directive from the Tribunal, House Speakers Kenneth Lusaka and Justin Muturi may have to give direction on whether Parliament will proceed with the exercise. The House last year passed a law barring courts from interfering with Parliament’s law-making process and decisions.
