The two, Joash Nyamoko (North Mugirango) and Shadrack Mose (Kitutu Masaba), reportedly dismissed Matiang'i as a 'tenant' in Nyamira County.

"As Jubilee youth leadership, we demand that the MPs in question give unconditional apology to our Minister," said Ben Mogaka, a youth activist.

His colleague, Caleb Motari said: "It is quite disrespectful to demean someone based on his origin. Matiang'i is a Kenyan qualified for the job."

According to the MPs, President Uhuru Kenyatta should have considered a Nyamira native for the top job.

Earlier, Jubilee youth leader Brian Ongere had warned leaders against politicising government appointments adding that there is need for Jubilee MPs from Nyamira to work with the CS.
