Majority of MPs from both URP and TNA parties are pushing for the removal of Meru senator Kiraitu Murungi and former minister Noah Wekesa from top positions in the Jubilee party before its launch.
A TNA MP from Nakuru county said Kiraitu and Wekesa are old guards who should not be allowed to lead the new party.
He said they will demand that the party be led by vibrant and youthful people who can push its agenda nationally.
The MP, who sought anonymity, said the likes of Kiraitu and Wekesa have run out of ideas and cannot be trusted to affairs of the new party.
"We appreciate what Kiraitu and Wekesa have done in bringing the new jubilee party to life but its time they handed over the party to new and fresh blooded people who can propel it to greater heights," said the MP.
"The two are old and we can't trust that they have the energy to lead the new Jubilee party. We have so many young and vibrant people who can lead the new party and Kiraitu and Wekesa must pave way,"he said.
Kiraitu and Wekesa have been very instrumental in the formation of the new jubilee party which is expected to be launched anytime soon .
