The Jubilee Party, led by President Uhuru Kenyatta, has given the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) tough conditions ahead of the fresh presidential poll.

In a Wednesday statement signed by party secretary General Raphael Tuju, Uhuru’s party has objected the project team formed by IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati to oversee the presidential election.

Tuju said the list of IEBC officials contained persons who were partisan.

“After publication of the names of your election project team, we have received credible information that in the list are people known to be partisan."

"They include the following staff members: Marijan Hussein Marijan, Salome Oyugi, Chrispine Owiye, Joseph Ayatta, Joyce Ekuam, Tabitha Mutemi, Limus Onyango, Caroline Manyange."

“We hereby register our strong objection to the deployment of the above to be in a position to run the process,” Tuju said.

On Tuesday, Chebukati appointed Marjan Hussein Marjan as the project co-ordinator, Dr Sidney Namulungu as the head of operations, Nancy Kariuki as the head of logistics, Salome Oyugi head of legal, Bernard Misati Moseti as head of training, Albert Gogo as the head of ICT and Silas Rotich as the head of National Tallying Centre.

Chebukati said the appointments take immediate effect and will be for a period of three months.
