President Kenyatta on Wednesday said a joint committee will be formed to discuss IEBC.
He asked the opposition Cord to accept the move to address the IEBC impasse.
Cord leader Raila Odinga welcomed the move and said the opposition will release a full statement on the matter today (Thursday).
Cord has been holding demonstrations across the country in a bid to remove IEBC commissioners from office.
They are accusing the commissioners of planning to rig 2017 general election in favour of Jubilee.
Four people have died in the anti-IEBC protests, after being shot by police.
