Houses and businesses were torched while several residents were injured before police calmed the situation.Below are some responses from political leaders:Embakasi East Member of Parliament Babu Owino hit out at IG Joseph Boinnet over the incident. "@JBoinnet why are your officers watching as armed youths from Kikuyu and Dagoretti attack residents of Kawangware 46?" Owino asked.Simba Arati who is the Area MP said, "Don’t fight,don’t be trapped into the game of fighting among yourselves my great people of DN.We have lived together as bros and sisters."Dogoreti North legislator John Kiarie noted, "Kawangware situation being attended to. Persuaded against retaliatory attacks & successfully urged youth to retreat. Police presence welcome.""We really dont need what is happening in Kawangware. Just announce supreme leader won with 102% of the vote. Let our people live," the former Nairobi senatorial candidate said.
