MPs demonstrated unity in their sordid attempt to exert more weight on the shoulders of the already heavily-burdened taxpayer.
They have done so by dubiously changing rules to increase the number of House committees, meaning that members will now be able to serve on at least two committees.
This move flies in the face of the cost-cutting measures that the Sarah Serem-led SRC introduced.
Members of the House Rules Committee convened today.
The Selection Committee is scheduled to convene this coming Friday.
When it met today, the House Rules Committee made changes to the standing orders to increase the departmental and select committees as Aden Duale had indicated.
Minority Leader John Mbadi concurred with the move saying that the numbers were too restrictive.
