Even before the dust settles down, cracks have started emerging between the top leadership of Jubilee Party and former officials of the New Ford Kenya which was dissolve a week ago.
According to the Bungoma Governor Kenneth Lusaka, he should be given the post of Secretary General.
Speaking on Friday, Lusaka stated that he should be given the position of the Secretary General owing to the fact that New Ford Kenya is the third largest party in the yet to be formed alliance.
However, in a quick rejoinder, Meru Senator Kiraitu Murungi told off Lusaka telling him that he should take any position that he will be given.
"The merger comprises of 12 political parties and the ultimate responsibility of deciding office bearers lies with the party leader. I call upon the leaders to stay calm as the issues are being discussed," Mr Murungi said.
He further added that the party will be using the results of the last elections in awarding the position of Secretary General of the party.
"We will be looking at the last general election results when sharing party positions. The more the votes the party had in the last general election at a particular region, the more the seats it will be entitled to," he added.
This therefore will mean that Lusaka will have to forget the possibly of getting the SG position considering Bungoma overwhelmingly voted for ODM and Cord coalition in the last election.
