Politicians from the central region of Kenya who failed to clinch party tickets in the Jubilee nominations have formed a team that will see the winners of the primaries be defeated in the August 8 elections.
The group, which includes most incumbent losers who have opted to vie as independents have demanded to have a meeting with President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Led by Kiambu governor William Kabogo, his colleague of Kirinyaga Joseph Ndathi and Nakuru’s Kinuthia Mbugua, they met, Friday, and were expected to make a key announcement. They however called off a press conference.
The team alleged the Jubilee party primaries were a sham.
“These were shambolic useless kind of nominations,” George Nyanja who lost in the Kiambu senatorial race, said during the aborted press briefing.
