Deputy President William Ruto has once again assured Jubilee party supporters that it will hold free, fair and transparent party nominations.
He allayed fears that the party had secured nominations for selected candidates, during primaries to be held by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC), with intentions to bring sanity in the political arena.
Speaking when he hosted Jubilee party leaders from Bomet County, he asked fellow politicians to give the IEBC a free rein to deliver a free, fair and credible election in August.
He also echoed calls for a manual backup voting system in the upcoming general elections, saying it was wrong to disenfranchise voters due to technological challenges.
Ruto said the government must have options to ensure the voting process is smooth.
Energy Cabinet Secretary Charles Keter, National Assembly Deputy Speaker Sotik MP Joyce Laboso and Bomet senator Stephen Mutahi among other leaders, attended the political meeting.
The meeting was held at his Sugoi home in Turbo Sub-county, Tuesday.
