Over the weekend, similar remarks had been made by Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei said some individuals may have hijacked war on graft.

"War on graft ought to be done in good faith. It should not be informed by succession politics," he fired back.

Among the cooperations being accused of corruption include Kenya Power and Lightening Company, Kenya Pipeline  and NCPD which are believed to be headed by Ruto's allies.

But in Nyamira Councillor Mokaya Nyamboani, a Jubilee official from Gesima, said Uhuru's men could be plotting to fix DP Ruto.

"We all want corruption to be fought but we cannot allow a situation where certain section of Jubilee wants to make Ruto look corrupt.

"This is quite shocking because some individuals close to presidency are intimidating the DP. We cannot allow that to happen. The president should be objective," he said.

But Nyeri Town MP Ngunjiri Wambugu has dismissed claims that the war on graft is targeting the DP adding that only the guilty are afraid.
