Political analyst Bobby Mkangi has reiterated that the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) is being entangled in both the Jubilee and the opposition politics.
According to Mkangi, this has hindered the smooth running of the IEBC's operations which have also seen the two political outfits' push and pull in the ongoing mass voter registration exercise.
"IEBC is an independent body but the politics of Jubilee and the opposition has left the electoral body entangled in the push and pull between the two. The electoral body has been dragged into a fight that is not their own because its is a neutral body that should not favour any side," said Mkangi.
Speaking during an interview on Radio Maisha on Sunday evening, Mkangi, however, called on the IEBC to iron out all anomalies that have already been experienced in the voter listing exercise.
The analyst believes that time is running out to the August elections and a failure to iron out the issues may lead to problems after the polls.
"IEBC should iron out anomalies that have been experienced in the ongoing voter registration exercise. All sectors in the voting exercise should also be scrutinised with question marks already raised on certain IEBC sectors like the voter registry," added Mkangi.
