The Jubilee Parliamentary Group on Saturday endorsed and approved the formation of the new Jubilee Alliance Party (JAP) following the merger of political parties under the jubilee coalition.

The party is aimed at strengthening the political movement as well as consolidatidating unity among the different parties that made the movement.

JAP endorsement was one of the resolutions reached at in consensus during the three day Jubilee parliamentarians retreat held in Naivasha.

According to National Assembly Leader of Majority Aden Duale, all parties under the Jubilee Coalition were involved in the formation of the new party.

"To ensure that no person or party is left behind, the parliamentary Group shall ensure that it consults all the constituent and also all the affiliate parties in developing a good working roadmap towards the merger into one new party," said Duale.

The parliamentary group reviewed the status of the implementation of the Jubilee manifesto and the members unanimously agreed that the manifesto is being fullfilled. 

President Uhuru Kenyatta was among those present at the retreat.
