With only six days remaining to the General Election, candidates for various elective seats on Jubilee Party (JP) ticket in Nyamira County have been accused of failing to drum enough support for President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto.
The observation was made by some of Jubilee Party die hards in drawn from the region and on Wednesday morning during a press conference.
Led by Jubilee youth leader in Nyamira Mr James Manyura the agitated supporters claimed Jubilee candidates in the region rode on the ruling party for selfish gains.
“These followers have never been aggressive in mounting serious campaigns compared to their competitors in the National Super Alliance (NASA),” claimed Manyura.
They pointed out that they have been highly failed by Jubilee gubernatorial aspirant in the area for not carrying any campaign and claimed that they only see him when the president visits the region.
“We simply don’t see our candidates on the ground where they are supposed to seek votes for JP,” observed Manura.
The group further took issue with recently published lists of proposed names by political parties for various nominated seats.
According to supporters, the list of nominees under Jubilee Party in Nyamira county was biased.
“Majority of the aspirants for county assembly and parliamentary seats forwarded names of either friends or relatives for consideration, leaving out genuine individuals who qualified and deserved the posts,” he claimed.
