Former Nakuru Town MP David Manyara Njuki was on Monday morning arraigned before a Nakuru court and charged with hate speech.

Manyara who is currently the Nakuru Jubilee party chairman however denied the charges before Chief Magistrate Benard Mararo Manyara.

He is accused of uttering inciting messages that could spark violence in Nakuru Town on September 19, 2017.

The former Nakuru town Legislator was released on a Sh100,000 cash bail with an alternative of Sh300,000 bond.

Manyara  was among other Nakuru leaders who addressed Jubilee supporters at Mburu-Gichua round about when demonstrators blocked Nakuru- Eldoret highway protesting  over the supreme court.

Gatundu south MP Moses Kuria was among leaders who turned up in court and secured Manyara’s release after the cash bail was paid.

The case will be mentioned on September 27.
