Plans to bring together the Jubilee Alliance affiliate parties ahead of the next General election got a boost on Tuesday when New Ford-K leaders endorsed the proposed merger.

Led by the party’s leader, Bungoma Governor Ken Lusaka, the leaders said they have resolved to join the Jubilee Party whose slogan is ‘tuko pamoja’ (we are together).

They called on Deputy President William Ruto at his Sugoi home, Uasin-Gishu County saying they have endorsed the proposed merger for the sake of a united country.

''Count New Ford Kenya in, we will unite Kenyans to end politics based on tribe and ethnicity, the leaders have said unanimously 'tuko pamoja," said Lusaka.

The DP on his part said there is a need to unite as Kenyans through political parties.

"We as Kenyans have a tendency of dividing political parties based on communities. It's now time for us to sit and merge together as Kenyans," said Ruto.

The leaders were drawn from Bungoma, Trans Nzoia, Vihiga, Busia and Kakamega Counties.
