Party Secretary-General Raphael Tuju, has said that the party does not support the creation of the prime minister position and two Deputies posts through the amendment of the constitution.

The bill is being fronted by Tiaty Member of Parliament William Kamket.

Tuju ruled out any possibility of a referendum to create the positions saying the party will whip its members in Parliament to reject the proposal.

“There are those talking about the possibility of having a different Executive structure. But as far as we are concerned, and at this point iin time, our focus is jobs ... opportunities for our young people ... prosperity for our people”, Tuju said.

Speaking in Ol Kalou town after meeting with top Nyandarua county officials led by Governor Francis Kimemia, county assembly speaker Ndegwa Wahome and area MCAs, Tuju said it would be wrong to take the Country back into a political mood saying this is time for development.

The leaders have in the meantime urged those calling for the resignation of embattled IEBC Chairperson Wafula Chebukati to follow the law instead of forcing the entire IEBC team out of office.
