The ruling Jubilee Party has issued a stern notice to all its aspirants in the 47 counties regarding the primaries slated for Friday 21st April.
In a statement, the party warned that politicians who will be found to have flouted the existing party rules will be disqualified and barred from contesting as independent candidates.
According to Andrew Musangi, who is Jubilee's National elections board chair, violence is one of the prime offences that will automatically disqualify an aspirant from a given political race.
"Jubilee party wants to stand out among other parties. We want to differentiate ourselves from the historically violent party nominations that we have witnessed from other parties. This time we wont entertain hooliganism," warded Musangi.
He further advised aspirants planning to jump from the party to other smaller parties that they will be blocked from being cleared by the IEBC if they happen to have involved themselves in any form of elections malpractice. He also said that the party had recruited agents to monitor the exercise in all counties and their testimonies shall be of great use in gauging the outcome of the exercise.
Musangi's sentiments were seconded by the party's secretary General Raphael Tuju who said they will additionally use recorded video clips to identify errant aspirants.
