Jubilee Party now wants to be enjoined in a case seeking suspension of the controversial laws that were gazetted on Thursday.
The Party wants to be included in the caseas an interested party.
The case was filed by Katiba Institute challenging the controversial amendment Acts that effectively became law yesterday.
In the petition, the group said that the amendment to the laws was made in the absence of the members of the Opposition in the Parliament and the Senate.
According to Jubilee, both houses followed due process in making the amendments.
Jubilee pointed out that its members went to the extent of collecting and collating information and views from the public before amending the laws.
Jubilee’s application letters state that the laws were adopted in a procedural manner under the constitution.
"A section of the Opposition members of both Houses failed to participate in the legislative process, the public and other entities fully took part in the exercise leading to approval of the amendments," said Mary Kigen, , the deputy executive director and head of legal compliance of Jubilee
