President Uhuru Kenyatta's Jubilee Party has pledged to hold free, fair and credible primaries, the Daily Nation has reported.
Speaking on Tuesday when the party unveiled its elections board, National Elections Board (NEB) Chair Lawyer Pwoka Wanyonyi maintained that the party had no preferred candidate in any elective seat apart from the Presidency, adding that the will of the people will be respected.
He further exuded confidence that the party's primaries will not lead to any fallout.
“If the nominations are free and fair then there should be no fall outs because if you believe in Jubilee then you are a leader in Jubilee either way, unless you think you should win,” he said.
“This board has already started working since last week. We know the stakes are high but we are a formidable team who will ensure the process is credible,” he added.
Wanyonyi also hinted that the party would hold its primaries on April 13-26.
The elections board include: Mr Aden Noor Ali, former Kisii mayor Samuel Nyangeso, Mr M.G Waweru, Dr Samwel Kobia, Ms Leah Ntimama, Ms Carolyne Kameme Daudi and Veska Kangogo.
