Kisii Senator Chris Obure believes the Orange Democratic Movement has lost grip in the Gusii region following development projects initiated by the Jubilee administration in the past four years.
Obure further contends that the Jubilee Party will clinch a majority of seats in 2017 polls due to spirited Jubilee campaigns in the region.
Speaking at Keumbu on Monday, the veteran politician challenged leaders to join the winning team to avoid being left out in 2017 national government.
“It’s only a myopic man who cannot see tremendous work done by Jubilee government. We are seeing good roads, water and even electrification of our schools and this is what our people needs. Jubilee has done a lot,” he said.
“We should all be ready for a second term of the Jubilee government and those still roaming in opposition, time are catching up with you. Let’s us join this winning team to spur growth to our community. I am sure the JP will clinch most electable seats as well in 2017,” he added.
On Nyacheki by-election in which Jubilee lost, Obure said the voting dynamics was based on clanism rather than political parties and policies.
