Kiambu County Governor William Kabogo has rubbished claims from a section of opposition leaders that the recently formed Jubilee Party of Kenya (JPK) is a tribal outfit.

Speaking to journalists at Kiambu town on Saturday, Kabogo said that the newly formed JPK is a national party that seeks to unite and bring Kenyans together.

Kabog0 asked Kiambu residents to support the party saying it was the right vehicle for the re-election of President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto in the 2017 general election.

He added that JPK will help end tribal politics that have been witnessed in the country.

“I want to urge Kiambu people to support the newly formed party that President Uhuru Kenyatta will be seeking to use for his second term re-election come 2017,” he said.

The governor also asked leaders in the county to support the party.

Kabogo was speaking during a homecoming party for newly appointed Energy Cabinet Secretary Charles Keter in Belgut on Saturday; Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria also supported the formation of Jubilee Party of Kenya (JPK).

Kuria said Mt. Kenya region will support William Ruto for the presidency in the 2022 elections.
