The Jubilee administration is planning to neutralise the opposition by appointing two NASA co-principals to Cabinet, former Prime Minister Raila Odinga has revealed.

Raila said the move besides weakening NASA also aims at wooing the Luhya community to the ruling party ahead of the 2022 campaigns.

Raila who spoke on Wednesday when he visited Siaya Senator James Orengo at his rural home in Ugenya, however, said the move will fail since the opposition is intact.

By wrestling out the Luhya community from NASA, he said, Jubilee would be confident of the numbers that will guarantee it victory in 2022.

“We know there plan because we have informers right within it (Jubilee),” he said after a luncheon at Orengo’s home.

“The plan will not succeed. We in NASA are closer and stronger now than ever before.”

There are also claims that the ruling party is targeting Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka who returned to the country on Wednesday from Germany where he spent close to three months attending to his wife Pauline who had been hospitalized.

This was evident when MP approved representatives for the East Africa Legislative Assembly recently where Jubilee lawmakers voted for Kalonzo’s son Kennedy rejecting NASA CEO Norman Magaya.

Both Mudavadi and Kalonzo envisage at vying for the presidency in 2022 against Deputy President William Ruto under the NASA ticket.
