Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto has spoken of yet another controversial statement by saying that Jubilee administration is planning to steal August general election by manipulating the manual back-up system.
Ruto was speaking on Sunday at Sosiot grounds in Belgut where he was addressing Chama Cha Mashinani supporters at a rally.
“How do we explain a situation where some people turn up to vote for the presidential candidate only? These are dead people whose names have been sneaked into the register. We are fed up with vote theft,” said the governor.
“Jubilee should have considered the development of a special electronic card to be used during the election,” he added.
However, in a quick rejoinder Jubilee politician Raymond Cheruiyot rubbished Ruto's claims and added that Jubilee will win fairly.
He further said Ruto is a Cord project use to split the Kalenjin vote.
“Jubilee will have no reason to steal votes, owing to its development record. Governor Ruto should stop misleading Kenyans,” said Mr Cheruiyot.
