President Uhuru Kenyatta has asked Kenyans to give him a second term in office saying his government has a plan to address unemployment in the country.

In a speech read on his behalf by the Deputy President William Ruto during the ground breaking ceremony for a multi billion Industrial Park project in Plateau, Uasin Gishu, Friday, Kenyatta pledged to create over 6.5 million jobs in the country for the next five years.

He said Kenya has become a favorite destination to many foreign investors due to their efforts to create a environment favorable for them.

"Over 1,500 foreign entities have invested in Kenya since 2013 when we ascended to power with 20 of those companies choosing Kenya as their Africa headquarters," noted the President in his speech.

"This is a clear indication that investors have confidence in us and this will trickle down to positive impact to our people through job creation," he added.

The Head of State further hailed companies from China for heavily investing in the country and urged other investors, both local and international, to also consider putting in their investments.

"So far we've 396 Chinese companies investing in Kenya and I urge other investors to also take advantage of improving environment of doing business in the country," noted President Kenyatta.
