Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto has accused Jubilee administration of plotting to rig 2017 elections by mutilating election laws.
He said manual voting and transmission might plunge the country into chaos, hence endangering lives of many innocent Kenyans.
On Thursday, MPs allied to Jubilee passed an amendment which would allow electoral body to use an alternative to manual voting and vote transmission.
“Jubilee has sensed defeat and that is why they are resorting intimidation and threats. Changing election laws without due process is an indication that the region is headed home,” he said.
“By hurriedly passing laws without consulting their opponents, is a clear indication that they are planning to rig. This is setting a bad precedence and the president should wake up and do the right thing,” he added.
The opposition team has vowed to protest over the contagious election law amendments on January 4th 2017.
