In keeping up with president Uhuru Kenyatta's call on Kenyans to apologize to one another and keep the peace, a politician allied to the Jubilee coalition now wants Nasa leader Raila Odinga to forgive him for his foul language against him.
Nominated MP David Ole Sankok on Wednesday apologized to the former prime minister saying that he had used abusive language against him in the past.
Sankok said that in the spirit of reconciliation advocated for by the president and Mr Odinga he would not be left behind and would go at whatever length to ensure Kenyans of whatever shades are united.
"In the same language and in the same spirit showed by the president today, I would wish to apologize to the former prime minister Raila Odinga over my abusive remarks towards him in the past. We must now seek to move together as a country and embrace reconciliation," he said within the precincts of parliament.
Sankok who is one of the fiercest defenders of deputy president William Ruto has always been critical of the ODM leader and at one time asked him to retire from active politics.
It however remains to be seen how the new found unity pact between Odinga and the Jubilee administration will turn out going forward to the 2022 polls.
