The recent declaration by president Uhuru Kenyatta that all public servants undergo lifestyle audit has elicited sharp reaction from among Jubilee politicians.
On his Twitter account, Senate Majority Leader Kipchumba Murkomen said the move could be detrimental to politicians adding that there is no parameter to ascertain how someone accumulated wealth.
And a Borabu politician, who spoke in confidence, on Saturday said the decision could be targeting Deputy President William Ruto, who has been accused in the past of corruption.
"There is a hidden motive in the fight against corruption and the lifestyle audit is just one of them. They are not genuine in this war.
"All I know is that they are targeting the DP just because some people think he has accumulated a lot of wealth," said the politician, who was once mentioned alongside Ruto in the controversial Lang'ata Primary grounds.
Last week, a section of Jubilee leaders also raised a red flag on the fight against graft with some insisting that it is informed by 2022 succession battles.
But in Mombasa on Thursday, President Uhuru dismissed claims that the graft war is meant to settle political scores.
